2008 ARRL September VHF Contest

10/09/2008 | KB0HH Wow! What a storm! We had rain (11") on Thursday and Friday just before the contest crew arrived. The roads were either washed out completly or in really bad shape. KC5DPT and N5VYN drove through miles of high water and down washed out roads to get here to operate. We had to repair our own roads and drives to just get out on Monday morning!!

The contest had little 6 meter propagation but the local rovers added to the activity well if they were able to get to the grids due to the high water. The bands used were from 6 meters to 2304 MHz. With 3 operators and 4 positions, KB0HH had to operate rather than cook. Sandwiches again! The position of cook is STILL open. Send resume to KB0HH at his email address with a picture of yourself, cooking experience, and rover mobile. Roving experience is valuable. Can you cook over cowchips if needed?? Pictures to follow .. .. -- KB0HH
