09/15/2008 | AB0RX A portable five band expedition to EM 47 was planned for the contest. Everything was packed and ready to go.

I had been watching the path of Hurricane Ike for the last 10 days. When it became apparent that Ike could pass over southern Missouri still with tropical storm strenth strenth, I decided that a tent in the middle of nowhere was not the place to be. It was a good decision as I measured 4.6" of rain at my QTH.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who was affected by Ike more than I was.

My claimed score this year will be a goose egg. -- AB0RX
