09/19/2008 | N8QE Local contest activity was way down, and 6 meter E's propogation was completely missing, then Hurricane Ike blew through Northeast Ohio about 6:30pm Sunday causing a massive power outage from the 70 mph winds. My only salvation was working 10 grids on 2 meter SSB which is a personal best. My new 2 meter amplifier and 2 meter beam antenna paid dividends. All I can say is I had fun.....Bob -- N8QE
