11/03/2008 | NJ1Q/1 With the help of my lovely bride Shirley we put up the temporary 40/20 meter antennas at our place in Rhode Island. The feedpoint is at about 26 feet.

With the assistance of the LDG AT-100Pro antenna tuner I managed to trick my FT-897D into loading up on 80 meters. Not too bad, since I made 23 QSOs with 10 sections on this band.

Imagine my surprise when I worked two (2) Pacific stations (KH7X and KH6LC) on 15 meters!

Overall, I made 156 QSOs with 60 sections on 80, 40, 20 and 15 meters.

I had hoped to do better. But, my CW was just a tad "rusty!" Gotta keep working on that.

Still fun! I wait with eager anticipation for Phone Sweeps. Then *I* can sit on frequency and call, "NJ1Q Portable 1 FROM RHODE ISLAND!!" :-)
