11/13/2008 | W3CB TenTec OMMI VI+ 100w, Triband and dipoles. It was a weird SS. I normally miss Quebec, NWT and AK. This year I got QC fairly early and it seemed to take forever to get OK. I got MB and NL and then was down to OK, NWT and AK. I decided to quit looking and went to 14005 to try to run. I got OK almost immediately. Forty five minutes later, I got a call from VY1EI and I thought "Oh good another Nl after I finally got the first one". I was in such a fog, I didn't realize what I had until I copied the NT. I was so shocked, I forgot to send a thank you. Ten minutes later, KL2R called and I had my sweep. For icing on the cake, 15 minutes later AL9A called for my second AK. First sweep since 2000 and only my second so you know I'm going to order the mug. Thanks to KE0Z/VE4 for putting MB on the air. That was my only MB and like others EW was tough to get. Only two and only 2 Nv this year. Glad I only needed one of each. Got about 11K more points this time. So I'm smiling a lot this year. -- W3CB
