11/04/2008 | K7WA The ARRL Sweepstakes has always been my favorite contest - a small station can do well and with the limited number of multipliers (80), it's possible (just!) to work them all. This year I enjoyed the filtering and noise limiting features of my new K3 - but the antenna garden at my small city lot QTH is definitely lacking!

15M: 29 QSOs (Hamstick dipole at 24 ft)
20M: 246 QSOs (Force12 40XK portable vertical on the deck)
40M: 140 QSOs (Force12 vertical again, it took a 30 minute pitstop to convert from 20 to 40)
80M: 58 QSOs (Funky wire and counterpoise in the flowers)

Missed a clean sweep by five sections this year - EWA regular K7MM was in NNY and no other EWA crossed my path, also missed NL, MB, AB, and NT from VE-land. After 50 years CW Sweepstakes is still a passion (maybe an addiction??!!).
