SweepStakes is the most challenging contest of the season with a real exchange. Propagation this year was only marginally better then CQP but still better. Here are a few random thoughts I had during the fray:
My apologies to the 11 ops I bad mouthed (off mike) I forget to clear the RIT
The hottest, longest runs happen when the bladder is fullest.
The dogs did their partLetting me know about every car, rabbit or leaf they saw. Hope no one logged sec WoofBarkWoof Of course this never happens during CW tests!
Glad to know those open frequencies I could use to call CQ are really National Tune-Up frequencies.
I spent several minutes in a pileup working VY1 listening to him work the last 10 sec I needed.
Why? You work hours and hours and finally get one of the last missing sec only to work several more of the same in the next few minutes!
Does the DEA know what happens when you drink a pot of coffee and several Red Bulls?
Use to do this with paper & pencil and enjoyed it??
I need a bigger ampworked several Q stations with a higher score that me!
Missing a Clean Sweep because you didnt get that rare sec is one thing BUT missing ENY and NNJ is just plain embarrassing.
In the last hours my voice keyer became self aware and got snotty with stations I worked and made snide remarkes about my rate.
Next up the ARRL 10 Meter Contest. Dogs are readyRed Bull is coldSo BRING IT ON!!
