12/17/2008 | W8EDU The 2008 running of the ARRL November Sweepstakes SSB yielded the first SWEEP in many years on SSB for W8EDU. KB3HTS and W8WTS operated the station.

W8EDU is the club station of the Case Amateur Radio Club at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. W8EDU has a long and rich history of contest achievements, winning the Great Lakes Division Multiop Plaque in the 2007 contest.

Competition between college club stations adds an extra dimension of fun to SS. Check out The Collegiate Championship, http://www.collegiatechampionship.org/, to see the active college club stations vie for the top of the box.

Yvette, KB3HTS is graduating at the end of 2008 and moving on to grad school. All of the CARC members will miss her. Yvette is accepting recruitment offers from graduate schools with strong astrophysics graduate programs and contest-ready ham stations.
