What a pleasant unexpected surprise 10 meters was for the contest. The normally dead band came alive here in Northeast Ohio this weekend on both SSB and CW. Running 100 watts to my Alpha Delta DX-EE dipole at 40 feet I was able to make contacts west to South Dakota, east to Nova Scotia, south to Florida, and even worked Uraguay in South America. It had been a long time since I even heard or worked anyone in South America on 10 meters. All I can say is I had fun working this contest. Those of you who think 10 meters is dead missed a great contest contact opportunity. Please Sun - bring back the sunspots for even more fun next year....Bob -- N8QE
