The contest sounded more like a VHF QSO Party with meteor bursts, forward scatter, backscatter, sporadic-E, and TE propagation. There were parts of the country that were not heard from at my Nevada QTH, but there were still plenty of stations to contact.
I stuck to CW this time and sank to lowest depths of depravity by running the Alpha 76 (400 watts out). -- K1NV
