01/02/2009 | K3IW SKN 2009 was a wonderful way to start operating from my adopted home in Southwest Virginia. I had several memorable QSO's to within 15 minutes of the "ball-drop." There were some very good fists evident and some people trying really hard. Some conversation starters included my sending "QLF" to W8PBO. Art asked me if I wanted him to send with his left foot, then begged off saying he was right-footed. He had a great fist. While in QSO with me, K8MP sent an "e-note" to a TV weather broadcaster friend of mine in Columbus, and then later followed up with his reply to me via email. Looking at the QSO text, the 30-minute enjoyable rag chew seemed lots longer pounding brass. Thanks for a great event. Happy New Year! -- K3IW
