01/02/2009 | WB6SSW It was great seeing so much CW activity that was not just a contest and fun hearing chirpy signals that I haven't heard in many years. I ran my homebrew HBR-16 receiver and 6DQ5 transmitter and both performed flawlessly. I alternated between a J-38 (and boy am I rusty on a straight key, hi) and a March R-3A. Best fist was Jerry, WA6BXV; hard to believe that he was on a straight key.

After 45 years as a ham, this was my first SKN. But I'll be back next year for sure. -- WB6SSW
