K3Y/3
Each January the Straight Key Century Club celebrates its founding with a month long event. It begins with SKN. This year I operated K3Y/3 for the first two hours of 2009. I am not one who is used to working a pileup. SKN was great practice working a pileup. Thanks to all who answered my CQ SKN. I have a very modest collection of straight key's (5 to be exact). I used my SKCC club key (key # 61)a Marconi Replica to key my Kenwood TS 570. Besides field day, SKN is the other time of year that I operate QRO(100W). The rest of the year I operate QRP 5W or less using my K-2 and my Navy Flameproof.
Thanks to the ARRL for SKN, and thanks to SKCC for making every day a 'straight key' event. See you next SKN on the radio
