Another great Straight Key Night. The hand made code, the chirping and drifting cw signals emerging from my Heathkit Apache TX-1 transmitter (1954 Vintage) and my National NC-183 receiver (1947 Vintage) was music to my ears. The tuning and adjusting of a dozen knobs, the warm glow of tubes, the tapping out code with my Nye Viking (SpeedX) hand key, took me back to the magic of days gone bye. Listening to the CW band on Straight Key Night is like listening to your favorite "oldies but goodies" station with the sounds of yesteryear. Straight Key Night 2009 has become yet another fond memory. However, I met new friends with New, Classic, and Vintage gear who all share the love of the origional digital mode, CW. My thanks to W2TN, K0TER, N0EAX, W7JI, AB8SX, and W6LFB(and his kitties)for helping me usher in 2009. May 2009 bring happy times and fond memories to you all. See Ya next year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!! 73 de WB6CGJ, Dennis in Imperial, Ca. -- WB6CGJ
