2009 ARRL Straight Key Night

01/06/2009 | K3Y/6 I operated the K3Y/6 special call for the third anniversary of the SKCC group. I made 22 contacts and had a great time, this is my first SKN in which I submitted a log and made comments. I had a couple very nice contacts with youngsters, I was happy to hear them on the air rather than text messaging or playing video games. Since the FCC did away with CW I think it is coming back rather than going away. I used my Navy Flameproof and my Vibroplex Annie or EF Johnson Speedx bugs. Since I joined the SKCC my sending devices are multiplying I now have 2 SK's and 2 Bugs and my Kent Paddles Hot all the time and I switch back and forth between them, My Kent has the paddles reversed for left hand keying which I am just getting started and am having a lot of fun learning. My station is a Yaesu FT 1000mp 10 to 160 Carolina Windom, a KLM KT34a 4 el triband YAGI and a Force 12 Sigma 40 Vertical dipole.
