01/05/2009 | KD5IKG First digital mode contest for me. I made my first RTTY contact ever during the contest. I had tried RTTY several times before over the years, but never got a reply while trying to figure it out. But during the contest everybody was willing to work me if they heard me!

Even had a couple hams help me during the contest to fine tune the macros for improved efficiency. Added some new states and DX's to my logbook. Heard an Alaska station for the first time but did not get it in the log. Not bad for an inverted G5RV Jr in a small antenna restricted lot and a few watts.
