03/03/2009 | ZS1JY This was my first real ARRL CW contest I participated in. The Friday night before the contest I constructed an NB6M paddle key, which worked great during the contest (using Icom IC706MkIIG running 100W into dipole and G5RV antennae). Overall the contest was great fun, and it also helped my WAS count along (sitting at 42 now). Sunday evening was excellent, with loads of stations rolling in on 20m, followed by 40m until midnight. No stations heard on 10m though. Can't wait for the next one!
