2009 ARRL June VHF Contest

06/17/2009 | N2TEB I operated QRP Portable from Cape May, NJ (FM28) while I was down there on vacation during the June VHF contest. I used a Yaesu FT-817 with an Arrow Antenna. I was able to spend a couple hours on Saturday evening and a couple hours Sunday morning trying to make contacts. There didn't seem to be much activity on the bands during the time I was able to operate.

I worked 6 different stations in 5 different grids. I was able to work the Packrats (W3CCX) who were approximately 150 miles away. I also worked the Grid Pirates (K8GP) who were approximately 160 miles away.

Mostly likely for the next contest I'll be operating closer to home (still portable) with more antennas and more power. However, I enjoyed the challenge of QRP! -- N2TEB
