2009 ARRL June VHF Contest

06/22/2009 | VE2BAP After an absence of 15 years, I was back on this great contest! I operated portable on Mt Hereford, near Sherbrooke, Quebec: Elevation 2870 Ft., Grid FN45EB. I enjoyed great openings on 6 meters, Saturday & Sunday. I worked new grids on mid-west & south USA on the magic band. I entered in the "Single Operator Low Power" category.

Equipment I used: ICOM IC706MKIIG / 6M: 100W, horiz. dipole / 2M: 50W, 6 el. horiz. yagi / 70cm: 35W, 11 el. horiz. yagi. All those antennas installed on my car with a rotor (see photos).

I am planning to participate to "September ARRL VHF QSO Party" from the same spot, with a better antenna (probably a 4 el. yagi) on 6 meters. Don't forget to turn your beams North and watch for VE2BAP! For those who need to confirm FN45... My address on www.qrz.com is OK.
