2009 ARRL June VHF Contest
Went through FN21 only making a few contacts. Ended up at FN22wi for the night. There is a nice Inn at Point Lookout where we spend the night. Ron, the Inn keeper is very kind to us and we park in his upper parking lot and operate. We got there on schedule at around 7:30 local. The site is usually great from about 7:30 until 10:30 or so. However, when we got there it was pouring rain and stormy. SO we had a leisure dinner while waiting out the storm. We did not get set up and operating until about 9:45, so we missed the best part of the evening. Sunday morning up to FN23 and then over to Vermont and Mount Equinox (FN33kd) for the afternoon. I attached a picture from Mount Equinox with the rover in its travelling configuration as we were leaving FN33. Then down to Hogback in FN32 for the evening.
Only real problem we had with equipment is that the 5760 transverter was dead for the entire contest.
In spite of the weather delays and bad transverter, we did reasonably good. Total score a bit over 56 thousand.
Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend.
