06/29/2009 | N4BP Bob, N4BP, and I operated 1E QRP Battery from his home in Plantation, FL. Conditions were not that good on Saturday, but improved as time went on. Rain storms and line noise are all part of FD and we had our share of each! Still, we persevered and had a lot of fun this weekend. Six meters opened up the last hour and 15 meters was open the last three hours! We discovered our camp site in the Florida Keys is being turned into Condos and is no longer available to us, thus the 1E. Station: K3, 5 watts, A4S at 67 feet, 5 el six meter yagi at 70 feet, trapped dipole for 40 and 80, huge marine battery, solar charged.
