06/29/2009 | KE5TRB This is the club station of the Oak Forest Amateur Radio Club, KE5TRB in Houston, Texas, supported by the Oak Forest Masonic Lodge. We managed to survive the brutal 100+ degree heat for our second Field
Day outing for the club. The club operated Saturday on 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters SSB and PSK 31. Participants included: K5ODO, (Jim) who supplied the generator, KD5WVE (Jim), KB5RJU (Cecil), N5SPU
(Dick), KD5EKA (Willard), W2NS (Matt), KE5PPE (Jack Jr.), KE5QJG (Jack Sr.), KD5MVL (Mike), KE5AOA(Rick), KE5RAF (Robert) and KE5MRZ (Carl) and WB5ANN (Mark). The GOTA station was operated by W5PCJ (Terry) and KE5VVC (Tabatha). We had a number of visitors to the station which included the Red Cross highlighting their emergency communications vehicle. We also had a visit from elected officials including the office of state representative Duane Bohac who represents our district. Despite the heat, it was a good time. -- WB5ANN
