06/29/2009 | KD7OED This year I set up as a Class 1B station in a mountain campground rather than working our club Class F operation. Saturday afternoon was cool and wonderful, but thunderstorms moved in after dinner and remained most of the night to make for some realistic emergency conditions training. In spite of this, I was able to make all of my regular weekend scheds, made a number of Field Day QRP contacts (on CW, digital and phone), and demonstrated amateur radio to two forest service employees who visited the campground. Mission accomplished - can't wait until next year! -- KD7OED
