Field Day is over. We didn't get a change to go out to Lake Tenkiller State park (Oklahoma) as we planned. We scoped out the perfect operating position a couple of weeks earlier. We had the camper trailer all checked out and ready to go. But, due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to stay home in Tulsa. I managed to get a 100ft long wire antenna up into one of our 70' oak trees at the house (only took one shot with the sling-shot/fishing reel.) I made 48 contacts with the K1 @ 5 watts on battery power. 20M was open longer than I figured it would be but late night there was some strange pulse QRM. I was able to work both coasts, and a couple of Canadian Provinces. This was the first year that I used computerized logging. It made things so simple! I guess the best thing about staying home was the familiar bed and air conditioned bath rooms! Wait 'till next year. -- WG5F
