06/30/2009 | W We had a great field day. We had tremendous media coverage including a couple of newspaper articles, three TV segments and a radio segment. The Adams County Emergency management team provided us with their
Comm bus and trailer so we got to "rough it" in a nice Air Conditioned
vehicle on emergency power located at the Hastings Fire Department Lincoln Park station. We had a VE testing session and have 3 new Technician Class members and one who upgraded to General Class.
We meet with Emergency Manegement Directors from four surrounding counties and representives of the Hastings Police Department and the Adams County Sherrif's Department. Finally, we were able to demonstrate our brand new IRLP Node # 3258 as well as make plenty of digi and SSB contacts. -- KB0ASQ
