06/30/2009 | KC7MGR This was the Field Day for the Camas Prarie ARC in many years. We set up at the Kooskia City Park in Kooskia, Idaho. Kooskia is in a deep valley along the south fork of the Clearwater river with 1000 + foot hills to the east and west. This and the fan inverted vees supported on a 40' push up TV mast was probably why we couldn't work the east coast but worked more Calif. and British Columbia(VE6) stations than we wanted. Most of the 17 club participants were new hams in the last year and never been on HF. All had a good time and ended with 145 contacts, 29 ARRL sections, 20 states. Best DX was Alaska(on both 20 and 75) and Louisiana. -- WB6DHW
