06/30/2009 | K6BSR First time I have tried Field Day without my club, and the first time for QRP as well as digital. Talk about a learning curve! I still made almost a hundred contacts on 6,10,15,20,40,80 and even 160!!! No need to worry about battery drain when you are TX'ing only 5 watts and your laptop is SSD. I heard west coast staions working guys in the east for hours on six Saturday night. I also scared up four contacts on 160 sideband while running a whopping 5 watts into a 60 foot longwire! I'll be back next year with better antennas, but power will still be QRP -- K6BSR
