The Yavapai Amateur Radio Club and Yavapai County ARES/RACES operated this year from the Heritage Park Hilltop Ramada overlooking Willow Lake in Prescott, Arizona. Operation was 2A with a station for 40 and 80 in the Ramada working on a long wire antenna and 20, 15 and 10 meters worked from the Mobile ARES/RACES Communications (MARC) unit (http://www.k7yca.org/comm_van.htm) off of a tri band beam. Equipment was operated from the MARC on board 7KW generator. Radios were operated around the clock with a short respite in the wee hours of the morning when bands seemed to go away, but picked right up again as the sun began to rise. Thanks to an article in the local newspaper there were many visitors that stopped by to see our operation.
The Yavapai ARC also holds their annual picnic in conjunction with Field Day and there were about 100 members and visitors that attended.
