07/07/2009 | W5JMW Once again Myself (w5jmw) and my wife(w5srw) went to our favorite campground.It is located about 10 miles north os Spearman,Tx.Spearman is in Hansford and in DM96.The campground is provided by the Palo Duro Water Authority.Since this is a public water authority they are a EmComm customer.Thanks to Jim and his great crew for dropping by and making sure we were ok throughout the night.We went in as a 2b station and kept a radio(706mkIIg) on 6 meters with a squalo at 25ft.Dm96 is a semi rare grid.The band never opened for us.Probebly just do a 1b next year.I operated while she provided lots of ice tea in 100+ temps throughout the day.The tent helped a little with shade but caught alot of wind.Ran a new Icom IC-7200 and it passed the test perfectly.Made 192 cw,71 ssb,2 digital and 1 contact on ao-27.Talk about pile-ups,the satallite passes were just that,massive pile-ups but so much fun.Well thats it for this year.Already planning for next year.Of course a big Thank You if I am in your log...73 John -- W5JMW
