W7OZE
These are volcanic clouds high in the stratosphere. Earlier in the month Mount Sarychev in the Kurile Islands erupted violently, sending tons of ash and gases into the upper atmosphere. The photo was taken on the evening before Field Day at the W7OZE site near Goldendale, WA. The tribander is visible as is one of the supports for the 600-foot rhombic. -- W7OIL
