07/02/2009 | W1BAA/ 2 The Southern Berkshire Amateur Radio Club of Sharon, CT, held their annual Field Day activity again this year in 2-land, at the Amenia Fire Company Pavilion in Amenia, NY. This was an especially interesting year for the club because of the tremendous increase in the number of visitors and operators.We entered the FD exercise as W1BAA / 2, the club call in 3 Alpha Eastern New York Section. The GOTA station had the call K1LEE / 2.

We had a demonstration of the Ham Radio Deluxe program and learned how it can make the FD operation run much smoother.
We earned points for solar panel contacts, GOTA station coaches for
the entire 24 hours, NTS traffic message handling, public display,etc.
The weather cooperated despite the "doom and gloom" WX reports for that weekend.
