Field Day 2009 was my first time on 6m, and the first time I used my portable HF gear during Field Day in 4 years. As I've done in the past, I stayed in the 1B/1-Op/Battery category operating at QRP, and had fun. I parked at a picnic area 20 miles west of Flagstaff AZ, and being at 7251' elevation was much better than in the heat of the Arizona desert. I worked stations across the US on 20/15/10m, along with stations in Texas and Maine on 6m - all at 5W, into an Outbacker Joey multiband vertical. I made 61 QSOs in 8 hours, including QSOs on 3 satellites, along with copying the W1AW Field Day bulletin on 15m SSB Saturday evening.
Did I mention I had fun? :-)
