The P.R.I.M.E. ARA resurected after a 15 year absence, and put together a neat 2A effort in Fairview Hieghts, Il. Was about 15 miles east of downtown St. Louis. Steve, WE9A, an avid WW2 vehicle restoration expert, found a neat, late model US Army communications shelter, that fits in the back of a pickup for us to use. HAd a brand new A/C unit, but, it died as soon as FD began. Temps Saturday hovered around 100. Storms shut us down at 11:30, and stayed off until 5 AM. Sunday was perfect, sunny, low 80's! We ended up with almost 700 CW QSO's, and 400 SSB QSO's. Not bad for a dipole, loop, and 15 hours on the air! We had a blast, and I think I may have hooked a couple new FD & contest freaks! -- KI9A
