07/06/2009 | WW2FD This year we had the usual cast of characters plus one. W2RPD Rich came up to help us. He had let his license laps and just got his new calls. Well he got the rain gods to back off for us the duration of the event. Erecting the antennas was a problem since we were in mud up to our ankles. Russ KC2LSB did his magic with rope to put up the support for the G5 and the 20 and 40 meter dipoles. I took a picture oh John N2NSA taking a picture next to the tower we put up just for prospective.

At 0300 one of the deep cycle batteries was heading below 10 volts so we had to get some exercise cranking the generator. John N2NSA and I took 20 minute each on the generator. This got us back on line.

All in all we all had a good time and as usual all put on 5 to 10 lbs. We should really change it to Food Day instead of Field Day ;-).
