2009 ARRL Field Day

07/06/2009 | K6TS The Livermore Amateur Radio Klub (LARK) participated in the ARRL Field Day 2009.
Volunteer club members set up amateur radio stations on Friday, June 26th at Robertson Park in Livermore. Using Livermores largest recreations facility offered plenty of room for antennas, operating, public access and parking for all.

Operating K6TS (the club designated call for the field day site) started at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27th and concluded at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 28th. We not only had the public visit the operating site but family members also came out to visit, ask questions and learning. Special visitors from the ARRL were the Pacific Division Director, Bob Vallio, W6RGG and the ARRL East Bay Section Manager, Jim Latham, AF6AQ it is always nice to have a show of support from the local ARRL group.

Chris Tate, N6WM, our field day volunteer co-coordinator advised The team effort obtained a total of 1,450 QSOs and receiving additional bonus points for operation type 4A and its specific operations with the bonus point addition the total score reached to 3,600.

Despite the 107 degree heat wave in the 20 M tent everyone did a sterling job and a good time was had by all. I would like to thank all who joined the LARK ARRL Field Day Event and we are looking forward to Next year! -- W6TCP
