07/14/2009 | N2JFS This year went in the signs of "Forgot". We forgot the camera, the wonderful precut antenna, some of our members forgot to prepare and be able to show up in time. What else? We were able to get on the air without major difficulties. We raised our antenna, one gigantic loop, after loosing a couple of arrows in the surrounding trees. Thank L-d for spares.

This year we had decided to run POWER. Instead of the usual 5 W we run 100 W. Lou-and-behold the battery lasted the whole time without showing signs to depletion, that including running a small florescent light.

When the rain got to much and the tent started to leak we found it to be a good time to visit our good neighbors, WR1VT West River Radio Club that had their set-up not too far from us. (Also a nice set-up but many more transmitters).

Good contest but I hope for better luck next year.
