2009 ARRL Field Day

07/29/2009 | N6L The Laguna Beach Emergency Communications Team (LBECT) operated under the call of N6L, as a 2A in the Orange Section, Southern California.
Our GOTA station used the call KE6GFF. Our location was on a fire road in Aliso and Woods Canyon Wilderness Park which is used for recreational activities. We have operated from this location on Field Day for the past 11 years. We operate primarily on solar power and only use batteries after the sun sets.

Our antenna farm consisted of a 40 meter dipole EndFedz (Parr Electronics), a Buddipole on 20 meters, a SuperAntenna, YP3, yagi was used on 15 meters, while M2 loops were used on 70cm, 2m and 6m SSB, and a 1/2 wave dual band vertical was used for 2m and 70cm FM simplex. For our educational program, we discussed the merits and attributes of each of the antennas that would be used. -- KE6GFI
