The South West Iowa Amateur Radio Club (SWIARC), based out of Council Bluffs, Iowa; had a spectacular year this year. Approximately 60 people participated (mostly because of dinner on Saturday) and assisted in running the HUGE 9A station. We made exactly eleventy billion (That is 11ty billion(1536 i think)) contacts and earned nearly sixty five two eleventy five (more like 4596 i think) points this year. Some of our more gruesome personalities showed along with out county supervisor (Who we put to work on 20m) and red cross representives. We had some boy scouts show up, who received a nice demonstration and may have made some contacts!
Our furthest contact was either Greg (N0GR, club president, 15m station) working Tasmania, or my self (KE4YQD, psk...) working New York long path on 6 meters. Greg's station on 15m also made the most contacts and was kept in operation nearly 20 hours. This was followed by Russ K0LUW running an impressive CW station who found great success operating at nearly one hundred and ninety five wpm on a straight key!!!
The most important comment that must be made is, All had a good time and are looking forward to next year. -- KE4YQD
