11/14/2009 | K5BZH CW Sweepstakes, made 220 raw contacts and 69 raw sections, not bad for a lite contester using S&P, a trap vertical, and a handkey. That should put me at about the 40 percentile level. I plan to move to an electronic keyer in 2010, if I was smart Id probably use a keyboard. Im into this for fun though.

Brad, N5LUL, and I had a friendly wager on this event. Had he made one more contact, he would have beat me. The dust hasn't settled yet, I know I made several errors, when the log checking is completed and final scores are posted, Brad may be the winner.

Did note that I only need one state confirmed, that would be Rhode Island, to fill out my states on 40 meter CW. Worked W1XX, have a QSL on the way to him. Still need 2 states to fill out 20 meter CW, they are North Dakota and New Mexico, didnt work either of them.

Proud to know that at least 4 hams here in Amarillo participated in the 2009 CW SS and submitted logs. WTX tends to be a bit scarce when it comes to a contest event. -- K5BZH
