12/07/2009 | K7EA A week before the contest I lost my end fed zepp for 160 due a tree problem, and almost gave up on operating. Well that first evening of the contest, I had my mobile TS-480SAT on the bench, and thought what the heck, let's see how it loads up into the common fed 80/40 sloping dipoles off my 50 foot tower.

Wow. It auto tuned nicely and I had a great time making over 100 qsos in 4 or 5 totals hours, and a bit over 40 sections. Best dx distance wise from here in Utah was PR, NC, and PA.
