What a neat contest! As a condo dweller, 160 has always been a non-operable band for me. This year, however, I used the tower at work (county communications center) and erected a quick and dirty inverted L antenna, 150 feet long at 40 feet , and used the bulding's system ground. Wow - was I surprised at the results! Many signals were 20 over 9, and finding stations to work was not a problem! I ran 5W and had no trouble being heard around most of the country, thanks to the many good ops out there. I worked most states, with New England and SE states being the most elusive.
Glad to see such a good turnout for a low band cw contest. I'm looking forward to next year! -- N0DET
