When I turned on the rig Saturday afternoon all I heard was meteor scatter signals popping out of nowhere and quickly fading away. I heard partial call signs but not enough duration to make an exchange. By sticking on frequency, eventually a more intense meteor trail would happen and with luck a Q could be had. It didn't seem to make much difference which way the antenna pointed, so I quit wearing out the rotor and worked what I could. Later on a bit of E skip towards NY and PA came around making exchanges more possible.
Sunday afternoon the band came alive with E skip and some trans equatorial and everyone was having fun. To bad nothing came across either ocean, at least not to my modest station in MN. Best DX here was an HC8, begging for calls with no pile up.
Even with all the propagation modes, a lot of my contacts were down toward the noise floor. Congrats to all the sharp ears out there!
