2009 ARRL 10 Meter Contest
From the shores of the Irish Riveira, on the east coast of Massachusetts, south of Beantown, but north of the Sagamore Bridge, electrons were sent stateside...CQ...CQ...CQ 10 meters...inviting all to respond. Yet, no one heard me. Oh well, what's new.
Not until early evening on Saturday, did the airways open up for a short stint, both north to south, then east to west, for several quick exchanges of 59 MA...QRZ?, then they were gone. Back to talking to myself.
I do that a lot on 10 meters, especially in contests.
Yet, my Yaesu FT-301 and the trusty TA-33jr (both antiques by now) pulled me to another decent score. Even exceeded the 2008 score by some 10%.
Quite a few 'new' callsigns heard, a lot of the 'old' calls never made it up north. No DX, no TX, or CA, or VT. A lot of MA, SD, ND, WI and MI. To all those that made it, THANKS, YOU'RE 59 in Mike Alpha. -- KA1AMR
