2009 ARRL 10 Meter Contest

12/18/2009 | K1PU Well, not the finest hour for sun spots and 10 meters. Solar flux got up to 76 and there where some openings, but nothing "Big". I had a limited effort this year, got some time in on Friday night, worked the locals. Saturday I was working at the new QTH, but got some time late afternoon and after my company Christmas party that night. Sunday it rained, that's good for the contester, no outside chores!. Got on the band in the afternoon after church, shopping etc.. Started off slow but we got a good opening to South America for about an hour and a half between 2000Z to 2130Z. Worked some LU's and PY's along with FM5CD, CW5W.

QSO's - 81,
CW - 56,
SSB - 25,
Mults - 27,
DX - 9

Thou lack of sun spots and time, this is my best score in years!

2009 - 7398,
2008 - 5358,
2007 - 4998,
2006 - 4176,

At least the trend is up!

Here is my first 10 Meter contest score:
1977 - 1786 points, 45 QSO's, 19 Mults
This was the first contest I ever entered as a Novice (age 16). Got the contest bug then!
For those who want to see a vintage K1PU from 1977, I have a photo of myself and Rich WB1DUG manning our multi-op "power house" station that year on my web site.
