2009 ARRL 10 Meter Contest

This was my first contest and I really enjoyed it. I operate entirely
cw and have been doing so for 36 years. I always avoided contest because I didn't know what they were all about. A friend (k5bzh) talked me into this one and I am hooked! Really enjoyed it. I didn't know what I was missing all those years. I bet I don't miss any more.
I originally learned the code in a naval radio school using a pair of head phones and a mill, in San Diego Ca, in the fall of 1952.
When I got out of the navy I didn't want anything to do with radios
are the code for 20 years. At that time I had a neighbor that was a ham and he gave me the novice test in 1973. Three years later I was an extra class. Have been going every since!
