Spent only a few hours on the contest thanks to family obligations, but even that much was fun and instructive. Like everyone else, Saturday was dead here in the D.C. area--ground wave QSOs only--while Sunday picked up with some 1,100-mile sporadic E, first to the Deep South (late morning) and then to the upper Midwest (late afternoon). Around dark Sunday I heard Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina at S2 levels but couldn't work them with my 30-meter dipole (through an antenna tuner) and 100 watts.
Most interesting about this contest was simply being able to observe shifting propagation as a result of so many stations on the air. Little by little, 10 meters is trying to struggle back to life. -- K4HQK
