2009 ARRL International EME Competition

01/03/2010 | SM2CEW I first entered the ARRL EME Competiton in 1985 and since then it has been one of the highlights of the year for me as a moonbouncer.
I operate exlusively CW and I wholeheartedly support the ARRL for revising the contest rules so that they fully support and promote random operation!

This has restored the contest aspect fully, and with all random EME QSO's made this year we can safely say that the revision of rules was a success. I think this is especially true for the bands from 432 MHz and up where major activity is taking place these days.

This year I added a new band to my entry; 2320 MHz. The activity on this band is high, and constantly increasing, which makes operating pleasant. However, there are a few things for the operator to be considered as the band allocations are so different across the world.

Highlight of the contest was working the Michael/Monica expedition OH0/DL1YMK on 1296 MHz and PY2BS on 2320 MHz.
