2010 ARRL Straight Key Night

01/04/2010 | K9VKY SKN for 2010 has come and gone. Unfortunately, illness lessened the available operating time, but not the quality of the contacts. Once again, the PRC-1 Spy Radio Set rallied to the cause in meeting new brass pounders as well as renewing some old acquaintances.

This year's effort was dedicated to the memories of two mentors whose paralleled keys once again came to life to fill the ether. Kent Anderson, W9FUF (SK), bestowed his J-38 after administering the Novice Test to me 50 years ago in December of 1959. The other key, a replica of that on the RMS Titanic, came from the very capable hand of A-1 Operator, Roy Repp, W3TZW(SK). Thanks to all of you who helped me celebrate this special SKN.

The equipment have have cooled, but the interest in our wonderful hobby and its handsent Morse artform has not. Here's wishing all a great 2010, and happy hunting on the bands. Dit Dit. Brian K9VKY -- K9VKY
