01/06/2010 | W5ALT Well, SKN was fun again. I worked 10 extended QSO's, not counting the SKCC contacts -- what a great way to start a year, doing exactly what we have fun doing! I operated using a homebrew straight key, as well and my Lionel J-36 bug that was given to me by my father, K5PEV. I also played with a HiMound "Coffin" bug and a Bunnel Type W sideswiper. Next time I hope to have a good sideswiper to use the entire event.

Best QSO and Best Fist was Harvey, W4TG, who was my first QSO shortly after SKN began.

For those who enjoy SKN, give the SKCC a try. Info is at www.skcc-group.com and all are welcome. SKN is fun once a year, but it's way better all year round, with the sprints, awards and other operating activities.
