01/13/2010 | W0SMY A real nostalgia trip. I took the Heath HW8 off the shelf after twenty years and got it on the air. I hooked up my McElroy Stream Key (any of you old timer's remember that one?)and the J-38, as sweet a CW key as was evermade. I used it during my Army career in WWII. A number of years ago I had to give up the straight key because of a bad tremor in my right arm. My CW now is strictly electronic. I hoped I could get an evenings use out of my fist before it went down the drain - no such luck. The straight key is out! I "read the mail" for the rest of the evening. I enjoyed it - do it again!
